Lucy Talarico
Over the past 17 years I have worked and supported individuals and families from all walks of life.
Now I direct my own private couselling practice, whereby I work primarily in supporting women's health and wellbeing.
I also work as a Student Counsellor supporting students at Secondary level. I have had training in Relationship Counselling, Pre-Marital Counselling, How to Respond to Women Survivors of Sexual Assault, Depression and Youth Work.
The methods of therapy I most implement during my sessions with clients are CBT ( Cognitive Behaviour Therapy), Person Centred Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy. I find that in combining two or more therapies together within a session assists in clients achieving maximum results, aiding clients to reaching their full potential.
Over the past I have extended my support to many childern and adults with disabilites, and their families. I have also had extensive experience in working with disadvantaged homeless youth and young adults and have engaged in voluntary work with "Beyond Blue"( depression) and "Youth Beyond Blue".
I worked as an employee of the Department of Human Services as a Juvenile Justice Worker, where my main duties were to support and work with young adults in crisis aged 10-17 yrs who have suffered abuse, depression, anxiety, self harm, experience drug and alcohol issues, family violence and law related issues.
My main work today involves empowering and supporting women and adolescents from all walks of life who present various issues of concern.
